Victory of Viqis – Manju Ara the new Principal

Manju Ara has been appointed as acting Principal. After the day-wide drama, Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education appointed Manju Ara. She was the head of History department of Viqarunnisa Noon School & College.

On Wednesday, Ambia Khatun had been replaced as Principal by the Governing body of Viqarunnisa. Students welcomed her. But Husne Ara rejected this decision and said this is illegal. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid also said, “it is illegal and Husne Ara is still the principal as per law. Also added, there are 11 members in the governing body. The chairman and the acting chairman did not know anything about the meeting when the decision was taken to replace Hosne Ara with Ambia Khatun. Thursday’s situation:

On Thursday, July 14, 2011, students rejected class and agitated against Husne Ara. Students threw shows and bottles to Husne Ara’s house. They took positions in front of the school gates to protest Husne Ara.

At noon, Education board called Ambia Khatun to a meeting in their office. After meeting, Ambia madum said that she was no longer in office.

Students disputed against the decision. The whole campus was trembling with Viqis slogans. They demanded Husne Ara’s resignation and exemplary punishment of culprit Porimol.

At last at 5.30 pm, Government appointed Manju Ara as acting principal.

Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education formed a four member’s ad-hoc committee and included the district commissioner as head. This committee will appoint a permanent principal.

After violating a girl of Viqarunnisa by a teacher Porimol, students of this school and college started protesting against Porimol. Police arrested him.
