Yasir Ali, a member of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), resigned today. He has submitted his resignation letter to the banks and financial institution division secretary. Yesterday (8th May) another member of SEC, Mohammad Anisuzzaman, resigned. Helaluddin Nizami, Chittagong University teacher, is appointed as a new member.
Actually, Government forced them to quit. Some news says, SEC chairman Ziaul Haque Khondker will be replaced also to rearrange the Securities and Exchange Commission. A seven member’s investigation team submitted report and suggested to restructure the SEC. The team was created for investigation the abnormal behavior of the stock exchange.
